Another day of title switching 'Heir of the New Moon'->'Behemoth Dethroner'->'Kirin Captivator'. RoD went for our most likely last Fenrir trip in a while since we have all items. Edwin came as WHM, crazy nig has so many 70+ jobs and bling for each. Shouted for 1 more member and Ost-san (WAR) joined us. Since WAR isn't as uber with DRK/THF Spin for hate transfer, Leviathan surely did some tanking this time.
First time lost, highly unlucky battle. Three or four dispels in a row, each dispel ate a Yagudo Drink on my end and blinks at the front end, since I'm poor that's a big deal to me..
Second battle, went in, realized that my MP was 1190 or something because of daytime + Fenrir Torque. Edwin was also packing 1000+ MP. Elvaan->Taru. This time Far decided to give an Icarus wing to the WAR, and do a crazy 2-man, 3-part renkei at 50%.
Did our usual: Levi Spin->tank, rinse repeat, renkei at 50%, Edwin's Goddess after Howling Moon, Astral after Howling moon. A few WSes and abilities later Fenrir was defeated. Far also got hit by Crescent Fang which knocked him way across the arena. Why can't the Fenrir we summon be that strong?

Log examination: Fenrir hit Deis only 2 times the whole battle, his ninja is too damn good. Edwin's MP, Hika's MP were used on Erasing him and nothing more. Edwin also spent the time to use weaken magic, both of which eventually landed. Leviathan also still reigns supreme as the one hit, high aim, critical type damage. No misses from my Levi on any Fenrir battle yet.
So anyways, best time get (third now). Not a true best since the "best" before us was about 10 minutes and the average Fenrir battle is 5 minutes tops. Ran to Norg, traded Evoker Ring quest item, ran to Qufim and joined Juventus for King Behemoth battle. I'm not even counting my exp loss these days, I really need to level. Lots of good drops get.
So much for my 'break'. Now I'm ready to actually do some leveling in full bling bling. Can't wait for lv72 and 73. Before the Kirin battle, Owen also gave me my first HQ weapon. Now I can do damage above my level and keep Shiva up for less cost (if I ever will?).
Like OMG, Krys finally got a hold of my uncle! (shrine kamonkamon) Wing's new game is also out, go chex it.

Yesterday was looong. Ceis was playing around in Bostanieu Oubliette so I joined him. That NM bat fang get, Jelly Ring get. ThunderIV did like 1020 damage on the jelly NM, without using strong magic, it has quite a lot of HP and physical defense.
After that we stuck around in Jueno while I pimped Ebichu for a telepo Vazu, we then had a de-to at Zvhal. Two NMs got but no drop.
So in the past few days our titles were 'Dynamis Jueno Interloper' -> 'Heir of the New Moon' -> 'Hellsbane' and myself -> 'Fafnir Slayer'. I returned back to Jueno and went on Juventus for Behemoth pop, was normal and didn't get. We then raced about 4 other LSes to Dragon's Aery.
Before it popped, Juventus had it's first Darter train ever in most likely months (because I've never took part in a train yet). Nyansan hit a wrong macro T_T, 2 or 3 people died while the darters accumulated. We cleared the darters, which was funny.. because the darter repop time would be more or less exact to Fafnir's.
In other words, the other LSes were busy taunting and fighting other darters during Fafnir's pop time and we were able to get Fafnir by someone's ghettobus Dia.
We all assumed position while O-chan tried to hold target, once in position we started switching parties around. During this we all realized "ge~ we have only one PLD!", everyone thought we couldn't do it because there is just too much hate going towards Black Mages during this battle. There also was about only 14 of us, and hardly any MP regening jobs. As always, we did our best while O-chan reassured us he had 80+80 vit (I think it was 80, or 70+70, I dunno).
All the stronger Black Mages died at least once (myself 2 times, orz I need to level up). There also was no renkei either since there were like 3 frontliners, and the front liners who were there happened to "miss" whenever they did attempt to renkei. I guess it was my most hardest Fafnir battle ever due to the understaffed-ness, reminds me of our 7 man Aspidochelone fight.
Kittycat was also running around, and took photos. See, I need to hire a PC player to follow me around and take crisp screens from nice angles. PS2 quarity is sucks AND it lags the game for 3 seconds on each shot.
HJ-san and I also had matching comments, which lead to about 50 /tells during the night about it. Our comments were about MAZINGER Z, mine had the opening song lyrics (the song pwns). By looking at everyone who /telled me, I can tell which players are really 20+ years old and playing SDRW. During the Fafnir battle we also would go "MAZIN GO-----------" everytime Fafnir woke up, ror.

Ok first off: Pso'Xja & Attohwa
Last night before maint I asked Do--tan if he wanted to do Fenrir for toys, he said OK so we decided to give it a go. Gathered up peeps who were also alive:
Hika BRD/WHM who is an MP tank w/Dalmatica
Deis NIN/WAR w/harness, HQ, specs, toys
Dookie DRK/THF w/full cursed eq, HQ, Balmunk (sp?)
Sheila SMN/WHM who rarely cures
Far RNG/NIN who wore opo neck in 1st battle ROR
Bebe WHM/BLM with verm and cure+ toys
This is mainly for Russta, if I see him on game and tell him to readz. Our strategy is the same for most "with SMN 70" strategy. We lost first time due to bad positioning on the fuidama and hate go to Dookie. Male NIN elvaans have a confusing stance, so maybe that's why it was off.
Foods: Yagudo Drinks for WHM and SMN, Sleep drugs cooked by Far, Attack foods for melee, Pamama/whatever for mages. I brought hi-ether, hi-ether+1 and aqua-muthlum-whatever leftover items from the AA BC because it's a given a SMN will maybe need it after using SP.
Strategy:
-Sleep TP to 100+, eat food + normal buffs, SMN do party blink+skin (15mins last but will get dispelled eventually) and then SMN do fenrir aim+evade up (3mins last but will get dispelled)
-Hika do ballad on backline, then evade song on front
-Summon Leviathan, Ceis taunt Fenrir, Leviathan Spinning Dive, Leviathan tanks Fenrir as melee get into renkei position.
-Leviathan die. Renkei start, Fuidama to Ceis
-Keep eating foods and keeping MP up, Spinning Dive when pact ready
-Cure Ceis if he misses casting blink (requires looking at log and counting shadows) whether or not he has gotten hit.
-Hika redo songs as necessary, eat refresher foods again as necessary (dispel, orz)
-Fenrir hp 60-40% down SP comes, usually want dark song but had no time, so ate full damage on dark day.
-Bebe Curega3, Hika Curega2, Sheila Astral
-Target went to Bebe, Leviathan takes a bit hate off Bebe by Astral flow and Fenrir nearly dead.
-I eat many more MP recovery (no curing), one more Renkei was done, one more Astral go, Far do endless shot (I think?) and Fenrir defeated (best time get)
This can be done with a PLD/WAR and without a SMN/WHM 70+. The problem is if you have a PLD/WAR, lots of curing power and MP is needed so magic attacking power is lost. Invincible after Fenrir's SP while the curing is being done and Kabau on someone who is damage dealing are both going to be needed, guaranteed.
SMN 70+ is good because it's safer damage and a free temporary tank because of that damage. BLM is a surefire damage dealer but would need to moderate doing the damage and most often ends up gaining hate from helping cure as well. They're pure hate-get machines, at least mine is.
Out of the line up we used, BRD isn't really necessary outside of the MP regening. Fenrir SP will hurt anyone who wears MP equip (the HP- kind) and who has low INT regardless of that carol.
I think PLD/NIN or NIN/WAR is just too good for this battle, only curing power needed would be in spurts. So I hardly had to busy myself with curing and could focus on pact time, eating items and Fenrir/Leviathan's doing. It was pretty similar to how I level up, the difference is that I don't sit between using attack moves. I sit between attacks in parties for MP.. Nobody ever complains because 5 chain gets and MP still full.

Neridia is back! Just so everyone knows, she's now Nyaridia. I'm so tired it's not even funny, but at least got some more FFXI stuff done. SMN is now 71, and has been semi-set partying with various people for the past week. Some English, some Japanese. I seriously need a break though, and gotta help LS negros with their stuff.
Like Ayako, I don't feel like hunting HNM until I'm "ready" and up to my own standards as this new job as well. For SMN that means 73 at the least, because I can sell off some stuff and reuse others. The only thing I'm going to gimp on is earrings, I'm going to wear Moldavite and Abyssal as SMN because of the sentimental value. /nod

Today was Dynamis Jeuno and many drops because THF TH2. BLM AF shoes dropped but I didn't really want them, so loosing lot was no big deal. Zenith >>>> AF2 for SMN & BLM, in terms of looks and stats. I also didn't really want the staff, it's going to be sitting in storage forever. Ceis lost lot on AF2 Monk groves, but they also have crappy stats compared to the 3(?) other gloves he has.
Just two more Dynamis areas and all clear, I hardly even went on many trips yet. Every trip I've went to can still be counted on my fingers. Ceis still needs Windurst, argh. I still don't like Dynamis, but might as well clear all while experiencing the rape (both physically for playing in the morning and mentally for exp loss) for each.

Pretty shocking, Kao is gone.. Kao & Mao used to trade long emails about things we loved. Like FF7 (back when you could only import it) and KOF's early games. He wrote faqs before there were such things as videogame portals, when gamefaqs was a website still in it's infancy and rotating links to get rid of bandwidth thieves, when things like published english guides couldn't even hold a candle to the faqs he compiled.
Chris got people like myself and the KOFML into writing FAQs, and over the course of a few years everyone was writing FAQs for anything they could. We used to have such a strong belief in sharing information we discovered and keeping things up to date. I remember he would update within the minute when something new was discovered. The update would then be up on gamefaqs the next day, and IIRC gamefaqs used to be updated manually as well. It's that kind of dedication to informing others and organizing information that made his stuff so damn good. He will definitely be missed.

Recently I had my first parties in ages as Summoner. The difference between partying now and back then is that now way more people are available, and since I speak english this means I can party with anyone. That can be good and bad..

Jobs I avoid inviting at this level: THF (sorry Tina!), SAM (weak..), DRG ("hone dekinai" tm Ayako), RNG (hate management wastes more MP and no bones). I might start bringing in RNG when hunting in Kuftal cause I have a friend with that job, but that place sucks cocka, it's always overloaded with 73-75 "hone dekinai" jobs overhunting. Mreh.

This weekend was BONERTASTIC (tm TMVers).
Saturday morning another Kirin win (no deth!). Night, Fafnir get + a little messing around since too many people showed up. Then Sunday morning win the Ark Angels Divine Might quest where you fight all 5 Arc Angels + their pets at once with an alliance. I think that it's way more fun that fighting them one at a time. Ayako you slut, FFXI is still daaamn fun GO do this.
It's also rare to see people, especially high level ones bust out all mental in party chat during such a massively busy battle. First time lost, second time went all out like it was Royal Rumble, when people died they was like Hulk Hogan doing the *HIT SELF, NOPE IT DOESNT HURT I'M STILL GONNA FIGHT*. Most of the members were non-HNM LS, not very blinged either. Only 2 WHM, and many non 75. Yeargh.
Prize: kewl title + bringbring earring
Lost: ~5000exp eating Raise1s
Outside of the usual in helping everyone's missions, AF, and other quests, everyone doing guilding lately. Oosh, Farplaner and Hika all got guild point items. Hika got glasses, Oosh and Far got aprons.
What really I like about this new guild contracting is you can make items with your name signed on them by using point-bought crystals. So far Oosh has supplied the LS with many Oosh Sabriga+1s. I bazaar a pair whenever online if I can't wear them as current job.
The best part is we can also make use of those Pollux and Castor RaEx rings from the San d'Oria quest of deth. Tinu and Oosh did some researching and I made a signed Pollux ring and gave it to pet. Signed Castor hoshii..
Other things, we tried for Rune equips.. no good item gets from the Apparatus thingies. Ceis still bought the Rune Bavghahgahs and we tried them out. Go see screens.

Wow, blogger is like.. different and stuff. According to their thingy, my blog has 375 posts over all those years. Looking at those old posts I am so immature, but I don't feel like hiding how I was anyway.

Haven't played or done anything interesting lately, cept the Dynamis trip yesterday which was total #$#$ cakes because guess who came along, HIKA! Towards the end we had 2 minutes to get Hikarisno from the Mog entrance to the ??? after killing the boss. Hika HPed to Jueno so that's why she was all the way back there. Everyone however, was at the ??? which was on the way to Heaven Tower and there was a million monsters in between us and Hika.
How to do this? Well, a big mother ass train + everyone speaking engrish works. About 30 peeps died (see screen linked above) clearing the path/aggroing stuff just to get her there. She even fell asleep to a Prelate's Sleepga on the way, I cured her just before I died and she actually made it to the ??? on time. Hika was shocked everyone would do this just so she can get the daijinamono for clearing Dynamis Windurst, but I think it's the way playing FFXI should be. It's not like we lost much after that massive train either, RaiseIII wo gets.

This is fun but too bad the site is going for pay and too bad we can't put how we actually use multiple sets of equipment.
Some stuff also is calculated wrong, which Tinu just pointed out. I'm looking at my character ingame now: HP max 861, MP max is 912. I'm guessing the Zenith Pumps and Zenith Mittens aren't added to the equation.
I also finally finished my BLM AF3 quest, not technically but in terms of events. Since I'm native San d'Orian and the information about getting the key to the Magic Gate wasn't available in the days I did BLM AF3, I couldn't get to the last event and completely forgot about it. I also didn't know where this "Gate of Earth" door was until Tinu helped me to find out this morning.
Juventus is going to have another Kirin trip soon, maybe more than one trip in a row considering we have multiples of the needed Beast God signs held by various people now.
Hmm what else, various Dynamis trips coming and lots more AF + SMN help to do. I also had my first BLM level up party in two months (months which included much dying and Raise III), invited Owen and Jamming on BLM to have a PLD BLM BLM BLM BRD RDM party on bones. Oh year. All back row was taru but me and the BRD. Good times.

Already forgot most the stuff that we did lately:
In between some Avatar battles and more Fafnir/Nidhogg + Tu'lia HNM hunts, Juventus fought King Behemoth. Right after that RoD did Maya's rank 3 dragon battle with Yoshipon. We also did a mini kagi tour for her Kazam pass. Ceis spent his time showing off his new toys now that he's a NIN 70. Since I have DRK 60 I was able to try on the Scorpio Harness and freak everyone out with how butch it looks on Elvaan female. I never realized I could wear it this whole time.
After the Fafnir battle everyone passed the Zenith Mitten uncurse paper for me. I already was saving the siren hair Ceis got for the Zenith Pumps, because I like how they look.. but Zenith Mittens are much stronger than both the Errant and Wood gloves I have, so those came first.
Gackt came on RoD and helped out in finding a weaver with nearly 100 skill who was online. Ayako gave me a suggestion, but said the person asks gil >_< ge, I have none. Actually was owing some already. The famous sewing person of Juventus, Cham, was gone for indefinite period of time so I had to look. Gackt pointed out Lufia from PrinceOnStar was on and asked Lufia, she then offered to do it free *_* she checked online for recipe and was really nice about it.
Memo memo:
Top level magic does at least 100-200 more damage on 75 leveling up-ish strength enemies, rarely ever resists unless it's uber god HNM. I was also Draining 100-150 more HP than usual from all god versions of HNMs. More is possible since it filled my HP to full each time and this is useful because I often get target. Aspel now drains 50-75 more MP than usual on the god HNMs. Drain and Aspel at night with Dark Staff seems very powerful, especially combine that with Dark Day. After looking at the AF2 stats, Zenith set seems more powerful while BLM AF2 is whaaa maybe good for leveling or hunting weak things. Taruninacchatta, have more MP than HP on two jobs!
